Enhanced contingency planning for the gas grid in south-western Sweden

In view of the sabotage directed at Nord Stream 1 and 2, as well as the security situation in Sweden, Nordion Energi – which through its subsidiary Swedegas owns, operates and is system balance administrator of the core grid for gas in south-western Sweden – has stepped up its contingency planning and vigilance.

The company has also intensified is dialogue with the government agencies responsible and other relevant bodies. This also includes exchanging information with TSOs (Transmission System Operators) and other parties in neighbouring countries and the rest of Europe.

The supply situation for gas to Sweden is unaffected by the sabotage that took place, and continues to be robust.

The Swedish gas grid extends from Dragør in Denmark to Stenungssund in Bohuslän, and supplies users including industries and households with gas. Almost 40% of the gas in the Swedish system is biogas produced in Denmark and Sweden.
