Biogas and the Energy Transition
- Industry Biogas Commission submits report
The Industry Biogas Commission, of which Nordion Energi is one of the co-founders, presented its report to the Swedish government in March on how more biogas can be utilized by industry.
- ISO certification for asset management
In August, Nordion Energi’s gas operations were certified according to ISO 55001 Asset Management. Nordion Energi is one of the first energy companies in Sweden to certify its asset management practices.
Hydrogen Infrastructure and Future-Proofing
- CEF funding for hydrogen project
During the year, Nordic Hydrogen Route (NHR) was awarded co-financing of EUR 330 million from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). The funding secured the next phase of the project, during which the initial permitting processes were launched.
- Public consultation process
In autumn 2025, public consultations began for a hydrogen pipeline from Örnsköldsvik to Haparanda as part of the Nordic Hydrogen Route.
Carbon Capture and Circular Flows
- Malmö CO2 Hub completes next phase
In 2024, the consortium behind Malmö CO2 Hub received funding for in-depth feasibility studies related to the hub. During this phase, the business model and technical solutions were further developed and specified.
Electricity and Digitalisation
- Sambygd
Together with Siljansvik AB, the municipalities of Leksand, Rättvik, and Gagnef, the company Sambygd was established — a joint development platform for local energy companies.
- Inauguration of new substation in Leksand
In December, a new 50 kV substation was inaugurated in Leksand. The substation represents the company’s largest investment to date.
