Nordion Energi continues to reduce its climate emissions

Positive results in Nordion Energi’s sustainability report for 2021.

“We are growing through collaboration between electricity, gas and heat”

These are the words of Nordion Energi’s CEO Hans Kreisel in the Group’s third sustainability report. The report summarises sustainability work during the financial year 2021, and constitutes the statutory sustainability report and has been prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards level Core.

It is particularly pleasing that the proportion of biogas in our grid continues to increase for the fifth consecutive year, totalling just over 34% during the year.

Nordion Energi aims to reduce its own methane emissions by 35% by 2023 compared to the total emissions for the base year 2019. In 2021, these emissions had been reduced by 31% since 2019.

Ongoing work to promote a safe work environment has produced positive results.
2021 was another year without any serious personal injuries.
